Today: U.S. House Debating "Cut, Cap and Balance"
Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will debate the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act. This bill is essential for our country and our country's future. We must Cut current spending levels, Cap government spending in the future, and pass a Balanced budget amendment to get the American economy back on the right track.
As the only candidate in the race for the newly formed Texas 33rd Congressional District to have signed the Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge, I urge all those in the United States Congress to pass the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act.
President Obama has promised to veto Cut, Cap, and Balance legislation if it passes, making his position clear: he does not want spending controls or a balanced budget.
The Federal Government has spent beyond its means for too long, and now Democrats in Washington D.C. alongside the President want to raise taxes, rather than reign in our out of control spending. In these tough economic times, raising taxes on job creators will only prolong our current recession.
