Williams: No Climate Taxes

Commissioner Michael Williams recently joined with Americans for Prosperity by signing the "No Climate Tax" pledge, promising to oppose any legislation related to climate change that results in a net increase in government revenue, including the cap and trade legislation.

Commissioner Williams has a long history of opposition to cap and trade often writes on the dangers of the legislation on his blog.

In a statement applauding Commissioner Williams, Peggy Venable of AFP-Texas said: "The one thing elected officials should be able to agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses. Using the guise of climate change to transfer dollars from hard-working citizens to bureaucratic big government is unacceptable.  Regardless of their stance on global warming, this should be common ground for all of our elected officials at all levels of government.”

From the AFP release:

“Other Texas signers include: U.S. Reps. Ron Paul, Joe Barton, Ralph Hall, Pete Olson, Kenny Marchant and John Carter, as well as State Reps. Dan Flynn, Leo Berman and Phil King.

Cap-and-trade took its first step toward enactment recently when the U.S. House narrowly passed the Waxman-Markey energy bill.  The bill escaped the lower chamber by a scant seven votes, despite significant bipartisan opposition.  President Obama has made no secret of his support for a cap-and-trade scheme, which would be the largest tax increase in American history.  The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has scored the plan as an $846 billion increase in federal revenue, a burden that will be borne by taxpayers and consumers for years to come.”

Michael Williams gets it. Most American's do not want the government takeover of our liberties through government controlled cap and trade and health care.

What is Williams's views and actual actions concerning illegal immigration.

Namely, our border, and the depleting of Texas resources through sanctuary city status.

Cornyn and Hutchison have left a very bad taste after the battle two years ago.

Cornyn and Hillary Clinton have created HIVisas, giving Indians American jobs.
